Febrary's Smalls Check-In

 Hi Everyone,

Can you believe it is the end of February already?  This is the time where those of us participating in Mary's Threads Smalls SAL 2022 challenge can post what we have been working on.  I am actually combining challenges for this finish as it is also for the Christmas Ornie SAL 2022 that you can find here: https://christmasorniesal2015.blogspot.com/

It is a whole lot of fun.  I have just finished one of the Fairies that Lesley Teare designed in the December JCS 2016 issue.

I used a scrap piece of 28ct Monaco and made a few changes.  I substituted  white DMC Etoile for the plain white DMC.  I also used DMC 4160 variations.

Thanks for looking,

Mary

Fully Finished SAL for February

 Good Morning,

I am participating in Rachael, from the Ten Hour Stitcher, Fully Finished SAL.  I am an infrequent contributor because I never have the time to FFO any projects.  If you want to participate and join in the fun it is opened for another week if you want to add your blog.  Just go to https://tenhourstitcher.blogspot.com/

I finished this freebie from Sew French and you can get the chart here: http://sewfrenchembroidery.blogspot.com/2016/04/fleur-de-lis-freebie.html

I stitched these for my sister-in-laws and they are from Louisiana.  I know they love Mardi Gras so I chose colors to celebrate the day.

Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope you have a great day!

January 2022 Smalls Update

 Good Morning everyone,

I am a day early with this post but that is ok.  Thanks to Mary at Mary's Threads for hosting another year of the Smalls SAL.  I was neglectful when I wasn't blogging and didn't participate in this wonderful SAL, but I am happy to report I am all in for 2022.  I believe everyone is welcome to participate whenever you are able to.  Here is a link to her blog http://www.marysthread.com/

So I have 2 small finishes for the month besides the witch that I posted a few weeks ago.  The first one is from Melissa's blog https://pinkernpunkinquilting.blogspot.com/  .  If you look at the side bar and click Valentine's freebies and go to the second page dated 1/11/2022 you will find this simple cute freebie.  I used some Sulky's 12wt thread and a scrap piece of white linen.  Can't wait to make it into a pillow.

Last night I finished this ornament for my son Bradley.  I just have to FFO it.  I changed the colors to his favorite - Blue that I just picked from my stash of DMC.  It is called His Gift by My Big Toe Designs and it was in the JCS Christmas Ornament 2012 issue.

If you don't mind, I am just going to post my update on my larger project as well.  I tried to load a before picture but it wouldn't let me so here is my update so far.  It is Circle de Coeur by Ink Circles Designs.

I joined Semi Sane Stitchers on Facebook and I hope that it will help me finish this by February 7th 2023.  That will be my 25th wedding anniversary.  February's challenge is to work on something that is love.  My plans are to work on this as my larger project instead of rotating it.  Then to work on smaller pieces to meet other challenges.  Keep your fingers crossed I get a lot of stitches in.

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward in seeing everyone's work tomorrow.

Happy Stitching!

Stoney Creek Horrific Halloween Update

 He Everyone,

I hope that you are all having a great start to the new year and that you have had tons of stitchy/craft time.  I had today off and I hope to stitch later on tonight, even if it is for a few minutes.  I am trying to spend as much time as I can with my college sons since they go back to Louisiana in a few days.  It was a great visit, but it is always too short.

I have tried to pick up my stitching for at least 30 mins a day.  I am happy with the progress on this wip.  It was started in September 2021 and I put it away for awhile.  I love Halloween, but I was unsure if I loved the project. It was free charts from Stoney Creek back in 2018.  I got all 6 parts with buttons but I think I am only going to stitch 4 of them.

I worked on the witch in part 3 (July 2018) and think she is wonderful.  I decided to skip part 2 because I really didn't care for it.  Here she is close up.

There she is with part one.  To the left of her will be a cauldron that I will work on next.  I love backstitching but I decided to complete the backstitching before moving on to the next image so that it feels more complete.

Well thanks for letting me share my update.  Not sure what will be on my needle but I will update you next week.

Thanks for all the comments and views.

Happy Stitching,

Mary

Welcome 2022

 Hi,

Happy New Year everyone!!! I can't believe it is 2022 already.  Last year really flew by, but I am ready to begin this year strong.  I have tried my hand at FlossTube but I don't think that is the right format for me to express myself as a crafter.  I have made some really wonderful friends and I watch FlossTube practically everyday I just decided to get back to my roots and that is blogging.

So I am really happy to show you my latest finish and the first for 2022.  It is a SAL that my friend Linda started on a group on Facebook and it took me awhile to finish.  It is a cute freebie called Give Thanks that you can get Here.

I really love it and I have some matching fabric to make a pillow.  That is another change I want to make in 2022 and that is to FFO more projects.

Anyway, I hope to come back soon with a wip parade.  They are all pretty large projects but I would love at least one finished this year.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!

Mary
