Hi y'all,
I hope you had a great month. Sorry I didn't post this last Friday but I didn't realize that it was the last Friday of the month. Thank you so much to Mary from Mary's Thread for hosting this SAL.
I finished my biscornu and I just love it in my basket. This is called Bluebird Biscornu from Tiny Modernist. I love it. I did choose not to stitch the other side and opted to put a larger button on the back. This was stitched on 14 ct off white Aida and called for colors.
I also finished Black Spider by VerbenaCS on Etsy. She has many cute and reasonably priced charts. She also has a Facebook group and it is a lot of fun. This was stitched on 32ct Belfast Linen dyed by me and misc colors.
Thanks so much for all of your kind comments. Have a great month and Happy Stitching.

A Christmas Finish
Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to make a separate post from my smalls update to show you my latest finish. I am so happy to have this done. It was a pattern from Mimi at
http://flanerieaufildessaisons.eklablog.com/
She always has such pretty freebies. The only stipulation is that you stitch a part and then send her an update before you get the next part.
Anyway, I am unsure how I will finish it. Either a pillow or framed. Now to tackle my next wip.
Take care and Happy Stitching.
Mary

March Small's Check-In
Good Morning everyone,
I would love to thank Mary from Mary's Thread for hosting this fun Smalls 2020 SAL.
I hope everyone had a great stitching month with lots of finishes and progress. The above picture is the finished biscornu I did for this month. It is called Irish Clover by Rainburst Embroidery on Etsy. She has several other beautiful biscornu patterns to choose from. I did as per her suggestion and used gold metallic floss instead of dark gold DMC and I just love the added shimmer. You can't tell by this photo but I edge the closing with beads. It was such a fun project.
I have worked on some larger projects but I will show you them at a later time.
Have a great weekend!

February Smalls SAL Check-in
Good Friday afternoon everyone,
Thank you to Mary at Mary's Thread for hosting this fun SAL. I just love looking at everyone's work.
I hope that you all had a wonderful, productive February. I just love the month of February for so many reasons. My first child was born on the 6th and my wedding anniversary is on the 7th just to name a few. My second favorite holiday to stitch is Valentine's, you know Halloween is my absolute favorite.
I have been working on some larger projects but I do have 2 small finishes to show you.
I decided to do a biscornu a month as my primary smalls for 2020. I am going to pick out another one for January because I am dragging my feet to finish it. Not sure why because it is pretty. However, I did finish February's. This is called Biscornu 482 from The Flossbox and you can find it here I love her selection of biscornu's (she has over 600) and it was so much to stitch.
Here is a picture before put together
Here is a picture of it FFO'd
I used some 14 opalescent Aida from Hobby Lobby. I love stiff fabric because I stitch in hand. I also think it is easier to make into a biscornu than a softer fabric. I had a scrap piece of fabric and made this simple freebie called Love Freebie by Atelier Soed Idee found here
I modified the design because I was running out of my scrap floss and I didn't know what color it was. I still love it.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Your comments always put a smile to my face. Hope you have a great March!

January 2020 Smalls Check-In
Hi everyone,
Can you believe it is the end of January? I hope you have had a great few weeks and got lots of stitching done. I have a few things to show you.
My first small is a free chart I found here
It is on the Janlynn website. They have a lot of wonderful freebies. It is towards the bottom on the right side. It is Flower #4 in the series.
I bought 2 of these pretty frames on clearance at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. It fit perfectly and my sister-in-law loved it. I decided to put beads in the middle instead of DMC 310.
I also completed December cupcake by Durene Jones. I have officially stitched the entire series. It was such a delight and I love them all.
That is all for now. I have been working on a larger project. Can't wait to see everyone's finishes.
Have a great weekend and happy stitching.

My big finish
Hi y'all,
Hope you have had a really fabulous January. Personally, it has been the pits, to put it mildly. However, stitching wise, it has been amazing. I have a few smalls to show you next week, but I wanted to show you my big finish today.
It is called Swans and Shears Mystery SAL by Tempting Tangles Designs. She is one of my favorite designers. I changed the colors and used silk threads from Carrie's Creations Thread. I sure do miss Carrie (she is no longer in business) but understand that things change.
I stitched it on 32ct off white Belfast that I coffee/tea dyed. I had to wash it and unfortunately the colors bled. Luckily, everyone said it just looks like it was dyed that way. I know eventually I will get over it, just not yet. I worked on this on and off for at least a year so I am not getting rid of it.
Thanks for letting me share my pride and joy with you.
Until Friday, Happy Stitching
Mary
